What's new?

I've been super busy lately, but I like being busy. Here are some random highlights:

We got these shoes in at work yesterday, and I NEED them. SOO cute and comfy!

I got a new lipstick! I love this Nars Violet-based red called " red lizard".

I also sent out my first custom order hair piece for a wedding  : )

Also... HARRY POTTER IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS!!!!!!

Weekend Craft Project: Gryffindor turban

I went to Joann Fabric this weekend, and found 2 long pieces of curtain fabric remnants in perfect Gryffindor colors, twisted them together, and tied them into a turban that I am most definitely wearing to the midnight premier of Deathly Hallows part 2!!!

yup. harry potter 7, part 1.  i.am.nerdly.excited.

let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress: adventure.

my partner-in-blog and i have lots and lots of shared interests. i love jenn because we can talk about nerdy stuff and giggle about it for hours while sitting in panera bread drinking green tea and doodling on recycled napkins.  but, we're not simply talkers - we're doers! we don't just talk nerd, we attend nerdy events! WIZARD ROCK!

for 2 years running, jenn and i have attended the yule ball at the middle east in cambridge. and yes, it's as awesome as it sounds.  the headlining band are 2 dudes called harry and the potters.  they sing about... you guessed it - harry potter! and voldemort, ron weasley, hermione, viktor krum - all of them and they do it in a really clever, silly way. the show happens every december, at christmas time.  this year the other acts included:

Draco and the Malfoys
the Whomping Willows
MC Kreacher

and guess what else? they serve harry potter themed drinks - my favorite is butterbeer; here's the recipe, and also what i look like after too many butterbeers!
