2010 has been such a wildly great year.  there were certainly some down moments, but they were so easily outweighed by all the crazy, fantastic, happy moments.  never before have i felt so blessed and grateful.  before i veer into the unbearably cheesy, let's look back at some of my personal highlights. first half:

chukka

did everyone have a great christmas? i sure did.  we typically go to my uncle's house, play games, get tipsy, then head home for present opening.  this year we did just that... it was great as always... but the silliest was when my brother handed me the gifts he got me.  i opened up them up: sunglasses, tim & eric calendar, mittens and then the final gift:  tom's chukka boots in brown.  i smiled gratefully, laughed a little then handed my brother his gifts: tom's chukka boots in black.  it was just too freakin weird.  we were both happy.

i like sparkly things. sue me.

it's 12/22/10.  which means new year's eve is 9 tiny days away.  i've never been that person who hastohavethebestnewyearseveEVER... i like fun, i love my friends and i have always tried not to put too much pressure on the night - which means i've always had a really awesome time.  (except that year we got in a car accident).  this year will be no different.  my friends are dj'ing a party plus we'll ring in the new year with a journey cover band.  what i do love about nye though is the sparkly dresses and the sparkly jewelry and the sparkly drinks.  here's what i'm thinkin:

i think i'm gonna go with the white one.   it's just too stinkin pretty not to.
happy new years lovies.

flower, fighter, last man

ok i've been totally slacking lately.  i've got so many great updates so here's a mini post on all:

first off, remember i was going to see the blue flower?  it freakin' ruled.  if you have the chance, please go.  it's in harvard square so you have tons of yummy pre/post theatre dinner options.  they do everything right with this show - from the atmosphere they set in the pre-theatre space to the gorgeous set to the on-stage band and of course the extremely talented set of 6 actors.  so yeah, GO.

i also went to see the fighter.  it's deceiving in that i walked in thinking it was a boxing movie starring mark wahlberg.  turns out it's a very different film.  we walked out, both dazed by christian bale's performance as dicky eklund - mark wahlberg's character's brother.  again - go see it.

i plan on dedicating an entire post to this soon - but remember how much i loved the walking dead?  well, i ended up reading the entire comic series.  which was fantastic and also turned me into a major comic junkie.  i used to go peruse the novels in any bookstore i entered... but now,  i can't seem to tear myself away from the graphic novel section.  i love em so much.  i'm currently in the middle of two series:  locke & key and Y: the last man.  i prefer Y but both are great.

perhaps tomorrow we should touch on the disaster that is the spiderman theatre production.

more to come.  xo.

the blue flower.

tonight we're going to see the blue flower.  i am SO excited.  put on by the A.R.T (American Repertory Theatre), this is the description:

"Ride the twisted rails of history from Belle Epoque Paris to the WWI battlefields in this musical play about four lovers and friends finding their way through a world in pieces. The Blue Flower weaves lush video art, inventive music, playful text, and evocative movement into a visceral theatrical experience."

will let you know what i think! (how great is that first photo though?!)
