brother from the same mother. and father.

do you ever wonder how two people brought up in the same household, only 22 months apart can turn into people so different no one would believe they are even related?  i often think about this after a visit with my older brother.  our differences far outweigh any similarities we share - which can be summed up here: chubby cheeks, love of bailey's in our coffee, and brown hair.  our differences are far easier to list -

he lives in brooklyn
i live in boston

he has an exciting, creative job in the music industry. he is very successful
i work in an office. i am not, by anyone's definition, successful.

for more than half of his life, he has been in very serious relationships.
i am single.

i am sensitive.
he will nail you to the wall with any number of witty insults.

i love food - anything from cheeseburgers to mexican food to milkshakes.  feed me!
he has been a vegetation for 15 years and sometimes just forgets to eat for an entire day.

i've traveled the world. from europe to australia to fiji to hawaii.
he has been to every state in the US but never been abroad.

i cry all the time! over movies, boys, work and life.
i would be surprised if he has cried since a dog bit him when he was in second grade.

since he was 15 he knew who he was, what he liked, what he loved, what didn't work.  he's always stuck to his path and gotten what he's gone after.  people activiely search him out for his ideas, thoughts, company.
i'm still figuring it all out.

i love him tons and tons of course, but it always strikes me how different we wound up.
