on sunday i worked at the hotel. it was eerily quiet so i left early and went to a movie. fun fact: did you know if you go to the movies in the morning (?!) it's half price. since i'm an extreme morning person, i found my new mecca. anyways ima ramblin. i saw black swan.
it was really good... but not really great. i kept reading reviews and friends blogs about how mind-blowing it was so maybe i set myself up for disappointment. even my brother, whose opinion i hold very (very) high, thought it was real great and i gotta disagree.
obviously natalie portman was great - physically she transformed into a believable ballerina, she was off the charts crazy, and looked seriously beautiful. these things can't be argued. i loved vincent cassel as leroy. he was in eastern promises too. he's so good at lecherous. and sure, mila kunis was good and so very hot but in the end... this was a movie i'd seen before. a "did that really happen or was it in her mind" kind of creepy movie. i'm not trying to be contrary here - it very much held my attention - but i was hoping for more.

(full disclosure: my brother was home for the holidays. i only got to spend a couple days here and there with him and i'm missing him way more than normal. he's very hard to get in touch with and yesterday i emailed him and said "so, here's what i think happened in the end of black swan - am i right?" of course i never heard from him but i know he reads this once in a while so please answer me brother, i'm confused!)
