this coming weekend i'll be spending my first ever weekend alone at the new house. since i moved in 7 weeks ago i've either been out of town or had a handsome visitor for the weekends. this weekend i have a saturday daytime birthday party to attend and a 5k to run early sunday morning... but other than that i'm free. there is a weird, creepy craft store 10 minutes from my house... where i plan on spending my friday night picking up supplies for 2 weekend projects. the employees are SO mean it is comical, they have tons of cheap bags of scrap fabric, and they leave you alone to browse in peace. both projects i found on design sponge so i'll link you over to them in case you want to have a look.
first up: my girlfriends from high school are coming over next week for dinner and wine. i'm making these sewn hearts for each place setting. see the full instructions here.

second: i am so excited about this... i'm going to have my first ever garden this spring! i have a gorgeous yard with tons of trees, a lake, a picnic table and a horseshoe pit. how could i not have a garden?!! and with mini flag garden markers!
