so now i'll tell you, openly, you have my heart so don't hurt me.

i'm in a creative slump.  my blog posts have felt boring lately, i haven't made an aluminum robot in forever, and because it's not my house i'm living in... i haven't been able to do my favorite thing - which is house projects.  it's a likely story - i have an hour+ commute each way, then work, then when i get home i'd rather watch a movie or read a book and not drag out my box of ribbons, and strings, and paper, and cray-pas and magazine clippings.  this morning i rode the train with my brother and as we commented on the high amount of big white sneakers and angry looking commuters, i glanced out the window and saw a poster for this:

and there it was.  the dale chihuly exhibit at the MFA (museum of fine arts) in boston.  i always know when i'm going to love something - i get this anxious knot in my stomach, like if i don't get to it/see it/hear it/experience it soon, my head will explode.  and that is how i felt (and am feeling at this moment) when i saw this poster.  his work is beautiful, amazing, inspiring and i have to see it.  chihuly works in large-scale glass sculpture and uses the most gorgeous colors... to check out the artist at work, please take a peak at this video (set to passion pit!) watch it, you'll feel good.
my hope is to get there by next weekend.  wander around for a few hours.  feel real happy.

Sometimes I question her styling, sometimes I love it. Either way she's unique and I love that she shops at thrift stores. And I ALWAYS enjoy looking at her clothes.

i wonder if they make clouds instead of guns and robots and machinery

it's finally friday.  it felt like a long week but i'm more than excited that we made it to what's sure to be a great weekend.  happy earth day!  happy easter! happy spring! even though i lost heat in my house last night and slept in thermal jams under eleventeenhundred layers of blankets, i'm convinced spring has arrived.  i'm most looking forward to more time outside, the suns been hiding for far too long.  whatever you're doing this weekend, enjoy it.  be thankful. i sure am.
And happiest of birthday wishes to mr. dustin fletcher matthews. yous a shining star :)

head games.

i've been talking a lot lately about head/hair embellishments. i love em.  i recently bought a mini turban from american apparel.  i loved it, i wore it out that very same night and (despite all of my main squeeze's most valiant effort's) i left it in the cab.  boo hoo.  what i liked about it... is that it made my gray t-shirt, black skinnies, and brown boots look new and more interesting... all for the low price of $14.  since i'm short on cash right now, these types of sping accessories are perfect.  here are some beauties i LOVE from ban.do that are less reasonably priced but are great inspiration for me to find cheaper versions.

these are from ban do's black label.  they are beyond perfect...
one day, when i wear a white dress ;) i want something just like this feather/brooch combo all up in my hair.
