yesterday i came across the nail ring above.  i took one look and thought...I.MUST.HAVE.THAT.  I worked myself into a fine frenzy over it.  how can i afford that?  i can not eat for 2 weeks? i can sell some stuff?  how how how?  having it will definitely make me happier. 

wait, right?

not right, not even close to right.  i've been doing a lot of thinking over the past few weeks.  thoughts on money, the future (and not the mj fox fun ruminations either), priorities and my tendancy for short-sighted wants. the more blogs i check out, the more etsy searches i do, the more i feel like i'll never have enough 'stuff' to be in the cool girls club.  i watch people post photos of their expensive new stuff on facebook and my heart wretches a little (tara, if you get that, people will see your good taste, your blog will be successful and you'll be popular and wealthy). 

but i guess what i've realized over many, many years on this earth is that unending wants will never equal happiness and contentment.  jealousy over what other people get/afford/buy will only ever tear your insides to shreds.  it's a slow process but spending less, acquiring less and simplifying my life are the goals.

do you know owen?  Owen is the solo project of singer mike kinsella.  i love owen - the songs are raw and they hurt.  i love one song in particular, called  'everyone feels like you.' listen if you please.

2012 ilkbahar modasına turuncuyla yaptığımız girişten sonra sırada bu bahar sık sık göreceğimiz color-blocking var. İstediğiniz renkleri dilediğiniz alakasız bir renkle giyebilme özgürlüğü yaratan bu trendi uygularken aşırı göz yorucu olmaktan kaçınmanızda fayda var. Eğer fazla renk kullandıysanız aksesuar kullanmayarak görünümüzü dengeleyin. Color-blocking yaparken her şeyden ilham alabilirsiniz. After the enterance to 2012 spring fashion with orange now it's color-blocking's turn. This trend creates an opportunity for us to wear the colors that we want with the ones that seem totally irrelevant. But be careful not to use too much accessories with many colors. You can be inspired by everything around you. When color-blocking is the issue pop-art comes to my mind immediately but you can apply this trend in different ways too.

my life won't be complete until i see this.  i pray for it to come to our tiny theatre very soon.  in a time full of transformers and real housewives, we despreately need this.  (overdramatic much?!!!)

sunday DIY: the cute.

i saw this DIY last week (i wish i could credit it) and knew i had to make some myself.  i had all the materials on hand except for the mini animal figures so i knew the cost would be minimal.  there's one thing montpelier does not lack and that's places that sell tiny plastic animals... even the hardware store sells them so this morning z and i took a walk and picked out our favorites.  i wanted all woodland creatures in varying sizes and heights and wound up with these:

the things you'll need are simple: mason jars (or pickle jars or jam jars or anything you want!), your choice of silly creatures, glue gun, and metallic gold spray paint (krylon gold is my very favorite).

then spray them with at least 2 coats, although i did 3.

glue those tiny feet onto the lid once they are all dry and you are donezo!

 fill them up with whatever you want but i'm thinking of filling them with tons of buttons.  yeah!

This spring we're all gonna be in orange!! Both in color-blocking and single combines orange will be the hero of this season. I know it's a little bit difficult to wear it but it will warm you with its energy. I advice you to wear orange with black and white for a minimal, easy and chic looks. But be ready to wear orange with another colors this season!!

When we don't know what to buy then we buy things that we'll never wear and send them to the bottom of our closets. So go and ask yourself what you need and make your shopping list.

4.Sabırlı Olun-Be Patient
İlk girdiğimiz mağazada aradığımız her şeyi bulduğumuzu sanarız fakat aldığımız ceketin daha iyisini ve daha ucuzunu başka bir mağazada görmek pek hoşumuza gitmez. Bu yüzden ne kadar yorucu olduğu düşünülse de tüm mağazaları gezdikten sonra beğenilen parçaların alınması alınan ürünlerden memnuniyeti arttırır.
Don't think that you find all those things in your list in the fist shop you entered. Look all the shops to not to say you found the same skirt at a lower price.

Don't buy a purple high-waisted short even if you hate purple when you see it on sale. Prefer the ones which you can always wear like leather jacket, white shirt, sweaters. You can modify them with new season's pieces and make them fashionable without spending a treasure.
