Donatella Versace is officially to be recognised as a fashion megastar. The Italian design dynamo will be awarded the prestigious Superstar Award by Fashion Group International at this year's annual Night of Stars gala - which celebrates its 25th year in 2008 - at Cipriani Wall Street on October 23. Poignantly for Versace, her brother Gianni won the award in 1995, two years before his death. Jean Paul Gaultier took home the trophy last year, following in the footsteps of a veritable Who's Who of the international fashion scene; Tom Ford, Nino Cerruti, Donna Karan, Giorgio Armani and Valentino are also among the award's previous recipients.
