There is no better idea than to celebrate the end of the finals with shopping! And that's what I did today with my friends. I went to İstinye Park to find all pieces that Iooked from the websites. But unfortunately I couldn't find all of them. Take my advice and don't go İstinye Park for shopping at sales and prefer the ones that aren't crowded and not preferred much.

Heyoo I'm Back!!

Herkese Merhaba!!

Umarım herkesin yılbaşı güzel geçmiştir:) Finallerimin tam da yılbaşının ardından başlaması yüzünden blogla ilgilenemedim ne yazık ki. Aslında hayatımda ders çalışmaktan başka o kadar çok şey vardı ki. Yılbaşında ne yaptığımla başlayayım önce. Yeni yıla dışarda girme fikrine sıcak bakan biri olmadığım için en yakın arkadaşlarımdan birinin evinde girme fikri tam benlikti diyebilirim. Dışarıda olsaydım bu kadar eğlenemezdim buna eminim:) Ardından diğer bir yakın arkadaşım olan Gül'ün doğum gününü kutladık. İtiraf etmek lazım ki zamanlama çok kötüydü biz de bir kaç gün geç kutlayabildik. (Bu arada iyi ki doğmuşsun Gül!) Bunların dışında tüm zamanım sınavlarda ve Starbucks'ta geçti çünkü finallere acilen çalışmaya başlamam gerekiyordu. Sonunda finallerim bitti ve beni bekleyen post fikirleriyle koşa koşa bloguma geri döndüm<3

Hi Everybody!!

Hope you all had an amazing New Year's Eve:) I couldn't give my time to write new posts because of my finals. But there were a lot of things in my life that I should tell you! My bbf was giving a small party in her home so I was there for New Year. (I danced all night long) It was really fun. After that we celebrated my another bbf's bday together at Asmalımescit. Beside that, I spend all of my time at finals and Starbucks-the only place that I feel like I understand the subjects-

For EVER I was anti-earrings.  Bracelets and necklaces were more my thing and if I was to wear earrings, they’d be tiny studs no bigger than a minute (my favorite uncle used to say that about me when I was little). But lately, all I want are the most gigantic earrings I can find.  Here are my most recent purchases:

Amrita singh baubles.  These were originally for my mom but when they showed up on my doorstep they were the size of baseball mitts.  Jude prefers her jewelry a bit daintier.

A British perspective on our lives.

In an effort to keep up my new years resolution of watching more educational and intellectual programs on Netflix, I started viewing the PBS/BBC series called "Stephen Fry in America"

 

For those who don't know, Stephen Fry is a bit of a comedic legend in Britain, and has, like most of Europe, a stereotypical view of the U.S. 

I was very excited for the episode of the South. Having lived in the South for 10+ years, I have grown my own hatred for aspects of this region, and was looking forward to an outsiders view. What happened surprised even me.

All through Appalacia, he encountered nothing but polite, honest, heartfelt, beautiful people.

He went to Miami beach, and remarked on how utterly putrid Florida was, and I couldn't have agreed more. Then, he went to Alabama. 

I was expecting your run of the mill, stereotypical view of Alabama, rednecks and oppressed minorities, but was taken aback when he attended an Aubrun Vs. Alabama football game.

I forgot what an American pastime and tradition college football is. Me personally, I'm more attached to the pageantry of halftime, but he was so overwhelmed with the music, the crowd, and the unity, he was literally brought to tears.  An old, cynical, British comedian was brought to tears.

It made me appreciate being apart of something so American as drum corps and marching band, and in a way, made me realize how bad ass America can really be.

My resolution is already paying off.

Also, I highly recommend this whole program. It's several episodes, but the episode about the Northeast and the South are especially entertaining.

Look! New Stuff!

So I got some awesome stuff this week!!

Let's start with the fun stuff... Beauty Haul!

 What I got ( from left to right):

1. Bliss Pore Perfecting Facial Polish. I needed a heavy duty exfoliator, and so far, I like this product.
2. Help Me by Philosophy. My new favorite beauty product. It's a retinol cream that helps with wrinkles, and I also use it as a spot treatment for blemishes.
3. Miracle Worker Eye Cream. Just a great eye cream with a few more anti-aging properties than my Bobbi Brown eye cream.
4. Be Somebody Lotion & Shower Gel. Self explanatory, smells like lotus flower. Yum!
5. Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer. I've worn this once, and I really love it. It's the only 'illuminating' primer I've tried that makes me look "dewy" as opposed to "glittery/shimmery". 
6. Microdelivery exfoliating scrub by Philosophy. Great facial exfoliator. I know I have 2 exfoliating washes now. so sue me.

One disappointment this week:

I splurged on the Makeup Forever HD Foundation (#118). I wore it for a day, and the coverage was great, and the color match was good, but I felt like I was wearing a lot of makeup. A year ago, this would have been a god send for my really broken out, red skin, but now that I don't have quite so much to cover, I found it to be a little too much. BUT it was just doing what it says it does, it just wasn't right for me. If I was getting my pictures done, like headshots or something, or a wedding, this might be a good option. Event only, I suppose.

Also, I got this:

 

I watched this documentary called "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead".  I recommend it. It's streaming on Netflix. It was basically a documentary that started off as your average soap box about veganism, and in particular, juicing, and it's benefits, and turned into this incredibly inspirational story that actually had me tearing up once or twice. Seeing the real benefits of taking in micro nutrients from juicing, I'm going to give it a try! I'm very Excited!

Eventually, maybe in the month of Feb. or Mar., I'd like to try a juice fast ( or juice FEAST, as the hippies on Youtube say).

It was a bit of a tough week, but Kat is almost done with this movie that has been hell on earth schedule wise, and I start working full time at Bobbi Brown, so things are gaining momentum in all facets of my life. I fully intend on keeping this pace up. It's not a sprint, it's a marathon.
