how to be normal.

i've been horrific with posting these last few days.  i've been too thoroughly immersed in the hunger games trilogy (i'm on the third book!) and also had to travel to burlington for work yesterday.  anyhoo,  some good posts coming up including: new hair, new glasses, how-to make homemade pb cups and some other nonsense.  party down kids.

and today 11/16/11, thank you for the unseasonably warm vermont november.  Walks to and from work have been straight up lovely.

11.11.11 Today i am thankful for all of our veterans.  including my dad who i spoke with earlier and thanked him for being super awesome.  thank you very, very much.

yesterday i wasn't feeling very thankful.  something about the whole dog situation just left me feeling really blue.  but today is new and better so here goes:

11.10.11 Today I am thankful for the restorative powers of sleep.  This holds true for both physical and mental anguish.  i'm a believer in the idiom "sleep on it." 

11.09.11 Today I am thankful for Mexican food! This work week has been especially long due to my taking on the workload of a co-worker on vacation so last night Z and I took a walk, stopped in for $2 margaritas downtown and returned home where Z cooked a scrumptious meal of chicken tacos while I took a hot shower.  (sidenote: I suppose this post should be dedicated to my thankfulness for him but I'm saving his for last.)

11.08.11 Today I am thankful for my co-workers' generosity.  I came to Montpelier knowing no one and they have truly welcomed me and made me feel at home.  they've become true friends and they have also donated so much to little ol' me: cupcake pans, air conditioner, games, and today i was gifted with a new Bodum french coffee press! 

Goodbye nasty Keurig coffee, hello deliciousness!  Thanks guys.

weekend wrap-up.

so, i was sort of off-the-grid this weekend.  our internet and cable went out friday so no "thankful" updates... i'm here to catch up on those and fill you in on our low-key weekend.

11.05.11 Today I am thankful for my internet going out... which led me to finish the book i was reading AND start a new book.  which one?  HUNGER GAMES.  It is ridiculously fantastic.  Must read - i'm almost done! Recommend.

11.06.11 Today I am thankful for pepperoni pizza.  I mean, do I need to say more?

11.07.11 Today I am thankful for Comcast showing up this morning and restoring our internet and cable!  Tonight we're catching up on: Grimm, SNL w/ Charlie Day, Walking Dead, and Always Sunny.

Also this weekend: we saw Drive (super bloody, super good, also ryan gosling), had a yummy Italian dinner date (chicky marsala for me, veal parm for Z), did a crazy amount of laundry and watched football.

11/04/11: today i am thankful for my brother.  we haven't always been close but in the past few years he's become a very trusted friend and the best sibling i could ever ask for.  he's a very calming presence in my life and ALWAYS the person i go to when I need honest advice on decisions big and small.  i can't actually remember the last time i saw him so i'm counting down the days until thanksgiving.  love you dave!

11/03/11: Today i am thankful for coffee.

it's my reason for stumbling out of bed, the most enjoyable part of my morning and the one vice i will never give up.

thank goodness.

thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday of all.  without the pressure of gifts and money, it truly is a time to spend enjoying family, eating seriously delicious food, and playing drunken board games!  in honor of this month of giving thanks, each day (in addition to my regular posts) i'll be posting one thing i am thankful for.  here we go:

11/2/11: i am thankful for the past that has led me to this perfect present. 

and yesterday's 11/1/11: i am thankful for my coworkers who are silly and goofy and will take part in game night.

i just want to thank you for thinking of me.

we did it! It’s feb 1st. bunny bunny. we made it through the first month of 2010 and i have to say, january was pretty special this year. as always, there were ups, there were downs but the really freakin’ awesome outweighed the not so awesome by about a bazillion to one. so today’s post is quick but it’s to say that i am so thankful for every person who made January so magical, so fun, so happy and so memorable. there’s some photographic evidence below but there were bucketfuls of wonderful things that happened without photos… but those moments are in my big juicy heart for always. thank you for being with me, for giving me hugs and high fives and kisses, for eating dinner with me, for making me birthday cakes, for sharing your lives with me, for taco night, for family and most importantly for making me giggle. oh and also for accepting me and my cheesiness. i love you!
