next week.

this morning as i got ready for work, i listened to this weekend's this american life.  the topic was prom and the final story was an old segment of all things considered with ira glass from 1994!  it was fun listening to the ira glass of 17 years ago... a little less sure-footed but as eloquent and soothing as ever.  i adore that man.  i mention this because at the end of the episode, as always, glass gave us a preview of next week's episode entitled 'next week.' 

doing something they've never done before in the show's 16 year history, the episode will consist of news taking place only in the 7 days prior to the broadcast.  how striking that in the past 7 days some incredibly historic events have taken place.  the very week npr has chosen, in a show that has spanned 832 weeks, is the week bin laden was killed.  how strange and conicidental.  i am very much looking forward to listening.
