my parents visited recently and because they have visited before and my city is the size of a thumbnail, i had to get creative about how to entertain them. anyone who knows my parents knows they're giggly and silly and happy to do anything. but still. i wanted to have a fun visit with them so i considered my surroundings. vermont: mountains, ski resorts, breweries, farmer's markets. and then i had it:
we would drive up to stowe and ride the alpine slide, visit a brewery, have dinner.
so mama and papa arrived and we had an indoor picnic, loaded up the car and drove into the mountains. we road the chair lift up half the mountain and then rode this beast:
it's so great. totally recommend.
stowe is beautiful and the lodge was really awesome. we played shuffleboard! my mom was the best. i might move to an older people community just to have one.
next stop: the Shed Brewery Pub for a ski of beer! they serve a sample of their 6 beers on a ski that has been cut down... we ordered three and drank em right down. it was so much fun.
great trip which ended with an italian dinner, birthday cake and my dad's first crepe the next morning:)
