movie night saturday.

we had a pretty low-key weekend.  friday night we had drinks with friends, danced to a band, chomped on free pizza and spend saturday morning sleeping in.  saturday night we both felt like lounging so we took a walk, got a cocktail and went to our little movie rental shop.  it's the best rental place: they have documentaries, foreign films, all the best new releases and loads of old movies too.  plus they've got junior mints for $1 and monty python on the old vhs player.  we walked out with the conan documentary: conan o'brien: can't stop and we also grabbed hesher.  quick stop at the store for kettle corn and pistachio ice cream and we were home in our jams in no time.

i recommend both.  i've been a giant coco fan for as long as i can remember so i was crushed for him when the whole nbc thing went down.  i even remember writing an impassioned post about it! it's a hilarious and also moving documentary about the conan tour; you get such a real feel for his mixed feelings on everything from the tour itself to the outpouring of fans to his (then) new show on tbs. both andy richter and conan's assistant sona are also great to watch.
hesher was a different (much heavier) ballgame.  JGL is great as always as was Rainn Wilson.  it was weird; we spent the whole movie wondering if hesher was real and what his purpose was.  i absolutely recommend.
