DAKS AXES GILES' LUXE LINE

After three seasons producing luxury catwalk collections for Daks, Giles Deacon is leaving the brand as it axes its high fashion arm to refocus on its core ready-to-wear lines."I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Daks team and the opportunity that this collaboration gave me to work with such an established British brand," says Giles. "It has been a rewarding experience on both sides and I wish Daks every success as they go forwards."

"Working with Giles, an exceptional, talented and leading designer, has been invaluable and we would like to thank him for bringing his expertise to Daks, which has resulted in enhanced exposure for the brand," adds Daks' deputy chairman, Paul Dimond.Giles' autumn/winter 2008-9 collection for Daks, which was shown during Milan Fashion Week in February, marks the end of the collaboration.

Here are some samples from Daks by Giles Deacon spring/summer 2008 collection. I really like the white coat with big black buttons and the black dress with skyscraper motive. But the other dresses are also very pretty and summery.
